Can I Offer You a Cup of Coffee????

Do you remember Gertie?  Here's a picture of her to refresh your memory...

I know, I know.  When will I take a photography class so I can start taking better pictures? Well, the short answer is, maybe never! LOL  I'm not sure when I could fit a photography class into my schedule and I KNOW I'd rather spend my money on tools, not cameras.

I originally posted that I would be willing to sell Gertie and I suppose if the price is right, I may still, but for now, I've decided to love her and bring her into my home.  She's undergone quite the transformation!

Here's a few more of her before...

Fantastic old hardware in excellent shape!

Solid wood doors and drawers!

Are you ready for this? Are you ready to see just how AMAZING Gertie looks now!?!

Gorgeous Gertie!

I would like to give a little credit and a shout out to my friend, Dottie Sheffield from Gathered Over Time for coming up with the name "Gorgeous Gertie" and for holding my hand through using milk paint, hemp oil and wax for the first time!  Thank you so much Dottie for your help!!!

Lets run through a few numbers on Gertie.

1. First, she's old! Estimated to be built around the 30's or 40's.
2. She's painted using Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in Luckett's Green
3. Gertie is finished with first a coat of MMS Hemp oil and then a final coat of MMS Clear wax.
4. She measures 58" L x 20 1/2" D x 35" H
5. She has 4 drawers, one of which is a lined silver drawer
6. She has 4 doors, two of which are those beautiful bowed front doors

I decided to use Gertie as a coffee bar, something I'd seen on Pinterest, as well as the extra storage for the overflow of plates and glasses I have accumulated. When I finally have a yard sale, I can get rid of them, but until such time, they're going to be stored in Gertie's spacious cabinets.  The best thing is that I get my Keurig off my counters, as that space comes at a premium since there's so little of it! And, I have a fun way to offer coffee and tea to friends when they come over!  Gertie holds all my k-cups, teas, cocoa's and ciders in one location so she increases her usefulness and convenience

Kinda fun, right!? Just please ignore the ugly, temporary, curtains behind Gertie, those are going soon, I promise!! This picture is also a little more washed out then the true color, but I'm sure you get the idea!

That's all for now! Have a great rest of your weekend and keep watching for more updates!!

Found you on MMS this am. I have one of those sideboards and went more neutral, but when i repaint the walls I might just go with Lucketts Green. Thanks for the inspiration. Really lovely.

Thanks Teri for stopping by!! I was initially going to go with grain sack but my friend talked. Me into going with a more bold color and I'm so glad she did! Love how it turned out and thank you again for compliment!!!
